Virtual meetings: A boon or a bane?
The grass is always greener on the other side, and this works well in virtual meetings
Hey there!
We are back with yet another edition of Acadle Bulletin, and for this week we will be talking about virtual meetings, their boons, and banes!
With remote learning or hybrid learning, virtual meetings have become a necessity to connect all the people across the organization. But if not conducted properly, it can create confusion among people and will not serve the purpose.
The grass is always greener on the other side, and this works well in virtual meetings. The offline audience thinks the online audience is lucky and has more benefits, and vice versa.
Cost-effective:
One of the most important aspects of virtual meetings is their low cost. You can save on costs that are utilized in arranging offline seminars, meetings or on resources such as printed materials.
Broader information sharing:
With virtual meetings, you can invite people from anywhere and connect. Connecting with more people will provide you with more perspectives on business and will assist you in developing better strategies.
Recordable:
Rather than taking notes, and constantly wondering if you have kept everything. Virtual meetings are a great way of keeping resources organized. The meetings can be recorded and viewed for future reference.
Banes of virtual meetings!
Proximity limitation:
The virtual participants can engage while the virtual meeting is going on, but the office people can continue to discuss. This does not allow the people working remotely to gather for the core discussions later on.
Time zone limitations:
It becomes challenging to maintain consistency in virtual meetings when people working remotely may be in different time zones than those working in the office.
Tech issues:
There are frequent technical issues! Someone will have a malfunctioning microphone or be unable to hear. It is a constant problem when people operate remotely and take up a lot of office workers' time too.
So, what should one do?
Even if they have certain drawbacks, virtual meetings are a great way to save money and connect employees across the organization. But with the aid of an LMS, they can be improved.
With features like gamification, discussion forums, customized courses, certifications, and private notes, LMS helps create a collaborative and seamless learning experience for all.
