I am back with another edition of the Bulletin, and this week we will talk about how YouTube is planning to bring a new feature and how it is going to shape market trends! 

We all are familiar with the booming eLearning industry which is estimated to collect a value projection of 1 trillion USD by 2028 with the growth drivers being North America & Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. This has given platforms like YouTube to enter in the eLearning market competing for the giants like EDx, Coursera and skill share.

But, building courses for internal or external use has become more difficult than ever due to the audience's desire for them to be more engaging. Hence, the eLearning industry is witnessing a major shift in courses, learning patterns and platforms. Among these is YouTube, which is going to introduce a new feature called ‘YT Courses’ which is an educational player. 

This will boost the demand for courses as the feature provides uninterrupted videos that will help in better audience retention. It will not have any sort of ads or external links that will make the experience seamless for the audience. 

There are certain things that I think this is an excellent move:

• Access to the potential audience, the platform has got 2.5 billion active users. 

• User targeting or paid promotions are easy, as YouTube has enough behavioural data 

• Additional monetisation for YouTube  🤑

• A large community of content creators are already on YouTube

• The interface will be quite easy as the users are using the platform for quite a long.

I am back with another edition of the bulletin and an interesting topic! 

You may be aware of the numerous continuing debates and inquiries regarding the global startup boom, macroeconomic conditions, and the current recession. In light of that, we will discuss the growing situation of SaaS startups in this issue.

The macroeconomic pressure! 

The companies having Indian customers will face little to no effect from the recession; the impact will be on the US and Europe mainly. People believe the Russia-Ukraine war has also affected the supply chain and hiked interest rates. And it may dampen the need of buying software for industries and it may affect the growth of SaaS industries negatively. 

Due to the fear of recession, the companies are deploying fewer software services for customer acquisition, which will eventually reduce the customer onboarding rate. Though SaaS startups will not experience much macroeconomic pressure, some companies have started cutting costs with layoffs or other methods.

But the funding has increased five times reaching up to $500 million in November as per Money Control overall. The industry is recession-proof globally and will continue to grow further in the upcoming years.

 “SaaS startups show a very prominent trend. We see SaaS firms having a long-term vision, and many companies have strong unit economics too. We are betting on fintech SaaS and data SaaS firms,” said Vishal Gupta, partner, at Bessemer Ventures.

Speaking about the Indian market, the retail and fintech sectors witnessed a fall of 57% and 41%, respectively, in the amounts of funds raised in 2022, according to Tracxn’s India Tech 2022 annual report. Yet, these two sectors alongside enterprise applications remained top fundraisers during the year.

Along with the market, audience behaviour has also seen some major changes in the past year, and it will affect the business in the years to come.

“India Inequality Report 2022: Digital Divide” stated: "While 61 percent of men-owned mobile phones in 2021, their access remained limited to just 31 percent of women."  

The digital divide refers to the unequal distribution of online resources to different genders and people of different classes. People with a lack of devices, internet, and online resources get marginalized further and have fewer chances to access education or health services.

The Oxfam NGO has requested that the government not only make the internet more affordable but also make it available to a larger portion of the population. It should be accessible to every stratum of society, irrespective of economic status or gender. 

What can you do as an organization to abolish the digital divide? 

1.     Analyze your distribution: 

If you do not know the problem, how can you solve it? The first step is to analyze if your services or products are reaching an audience of every gender and if they are easily accessible. If you do not serve in the internet sector, it is still important that you analyze your resource distribution and see what the gender ratio of your audience is. 

2.     Educational resources: 

Whatever domain you serve, you can always educate your audience. You can build courses to help your audience upskill and gather information. You can have a free or paid version, depending on your interest or requirement. 

3.     Make your resources accessible: 

Make your training and services accessible to all your audiences. If you are developing an app or website, you must have a user-friendly interface. It should be easily accessible to your audience and the app/website features should complement their requirements. 

4.     If you are in the education sector: 

If you operate in the education sector, the major responsibility falls on your shoulders to distribute the resources equally among everyone. You should ensure that if you are building courses or educating your audience, it should be accessible to every student.

Another Wednesday calls for another bulletin. This week's bulletin focuses on the importance of feedback after course completion & how to build templates for the same. A great course enhances employee productivity and helps in increasing the company’s revenue. 

But, to create an engaging program, you must gather relevant suggestions from the audience and alter your courses accordingly. There are multiple ways of evaluating your training programs but one of the most effective ways to do that is by sending out emails to the employees. 

With this bulletin, we have brought email templates for you to get started. 

What to include in your post-training mail?

Prepare a dynamic template without wasting much time so you can edit it whenever your requirements change.

The mail should include the following things: 

1.     Why: You need to have a definite purpose for why you are sending the email. For instance, if you want to create a new training program or want to create a follow-up session, it should be mentioned in the email. 

2.     Who: Decide to whom you want to send the emails. It may be HR, the L&D team, customers, or partners. It purely depends upon the occasion and what information you want to collect. 

3.     How: it is also important how you deliver the content from your forms to get the information that is useful for you. 

You can prepare a form and share it along with the mail. You must avoid questions like what you think of this course and add questions that are more measurable to get an idea of how your course performed.

You can add the following questions:  

·      How would you rate your instructor?

·      How would you rate the content of your course?

·      What was the structure and engagement factor of the course?

·      What is the duration of your tests and are you satisfied with them?

You can ask whatever questions you feel will provide them with better inputs to improve your courses. You can have a combination of objective and subjective questions to get the best results and evaluation. 

You can send your trainees emails with a link to the form to get their feedback and improve the experience. 

4.     When: it also depends upon what information you want to collect. For instance, if you want to know if they found the course useful, you can send the forms right away. But, if you want to know what knowledge they retained, you can send the form a few days after. 

Here are some points you should consider:

·      Keep your answers anonymous 

·      Make sure it is tailored as per the company’s voice. 

·      Make your mail short and attach the mail
